FALL 2011 CELEBRATES A PENSIVE ERROS RE'COLLECTION'!!!

Retrospective (from Latin retrospectare, "look back") generally means to take a look back at events that already have taken place or an exhibition of works from an extended period of an artist's activity. In music, retrospective compilations are sometimes assembled from an artist's greatest hits. Certainly, when queried, Erros claimed not a seasoned artist nor an accomplished songwriter. But for a multitude of admirers and avid fans, his works constitute art itself and he, a consummate artist- a person who create arts or at least a follower of a pursuit in which skill comes by study or practice. Egged on by his keen admirers and occasional zealous devotees, this adroit yet reluctant budding artist finally succumbed to popular clamor and categorically acquiesced to showcase not just one but four of his well loved collections. PALAWAN 2, one of QC's celebrated watering hole, earnestly hosts this Fall's weeknight exposition of each of his much applauded cutting-edge collations. Expectantly, Erros' covetous fans old and new will doubtlessly be treated not only to a night of pageantry and defining wondrous ocular spectacle that's been a trademark of every Erros runway show, but a chance to witness once again how an artist pursues his passion and cultivates his craft, the way a learned person tenaciously strive for excellence to become a Master of Arts.

N.B. Everyone is cordially invited to witness one of Erros' notoriously suggestive and flirtatiously hot DARK COLLECTION ~ (the 12 signs) on the 11th of September @ the garish and glitzy P2 disco/comedy bar in the heart of Quezon City. THEATRICALITY IS THE NAME OF ERROS' GAME!!!

Erros may not be conscious of it but metro fashion has credited him with bringing drama and extravagance to its fledging insular catwalk shows. Admittedly, the emotional power and raw energy of his provocative fashion shows and his tendency to juxtapose strength with fragility in his collections, has been largely inspired by two of his favored and admired designers of all time, the late Alexander McQueen and “ l'enfant terrible of English fashion” John Galliano. “ McQueen developed a reputation for controversy and shock tactics for his lavish and quite unconventional runway shows: a recreation of a shipwreck or a human chess game for his spring collections and his fall 2006 “Widows of Culloden,” which featured a life-sized hologram of supermodel Kate Moss in yards of rippling fabric.” he echoed, “ and John's often spectacular shows are inspired by history and his own travels around the world – everything from ancient Egypt to Masai tribesmen and 18th century equestrians, and his love of costume and drama(which may have put him on hot waters lately) thrilled fashion insiders at the end of each runway show by taking to the catwalk , always in an outrageous costume.” Certainly, with the company of such fine young fashion genius, Erros has been slowly gaining esteemed reputation of putting together intricately orchestrated couture exposition, adding a sense of fantasy and rebellion that often shocked and surprised audiences. The 'Myths and Legends' series brought forth new and innovative bestowal of such well loved classics as the Greek/Roman mythology made widely popular lately with on line gaming and PS3 games. His two separate renditions of Richard de Chazal's erotic men's calendar series, breathed life into each lunar zodiac sign's unfettered imagination that seemed to run almost out of control, revealing the male form with consummate art and grace. And of late, although he has not had the opportunity to travel and experience any exotic 'Middle East' countries, he believably escorted his jam packed BU patrons to a discombobulate realm of “ Haram” with such fiduciary and color able storytelling, and superb theatrical display of middle eastern audio-visual spectacle only he could pull through. Unquestionably, with him, ostentatious or meretricious may be an understatement, but the quality and capacity to shock was always liable to leave audiences for an Erroscollection show in a state of almost painfully thrilled apprehension as to what they might expect to see coming down the runway.

HOMAGE TO A CHANGE IN MAN'S MASCULINITY!!!

Some researchers argued that traditionally some men and predominantly women may be aroused by broad chins and shoulders and high cheekbones or by a sculpted physique as indicating a masculine discipline and self control. But with the advent of so called male 'metrosexuality' (though hotly debated as just urban, post-industrial, capitalist-consumerism culture hype), describing a man who spends a lot of time and money on shopping for his appearance, a subtle change in a man's vision of a masculine lifestyle is nonchalantly evolving, languidly de-emphasizing traditional male gender roles. Statistics, including EuroRSCG's market research showed that the most important shift in masculinity is that there is less avoidance of femininity and the “emergence of a segment of men who have embraced customs and attitudes once deemed the province of women.” Erros averred, "though some styles and behaviors, such as wearing knee britches, makeup and jewelry that are today considered feminine were, in the past, part of the man's domain, what is accepted as 'masculine' has shifted considerably throughout the times, so the modern concept of how a man should be, differs from the ideal man of yesteryears. In line with what is current, my collections reflect a heterosexual male who is in touch with his feminine side, decidedly accessorising and combining masculinity and desirability.” Conceivably, as the case may be, this designer's penchant for such whimsical dernier cri chic, may be a lasting cultural change in the fashion environment significantly transforming views on men's potent manliness, as evidenced by Marshal Cohen, a retail analyst's probing opinion that 'men nowadays cared more about how they look than the women shopping for them had.'

ERROS + METAL = MARRIAGE MADE IN HEAVEN!!!

By definition a metal is a chemical element that is a good conductor of electricity and heat. Precious metals other than being rare metallic chemical elements of high economic value, have high luster and even higher electrical conductivity. Erros' preternatural yet refreshing preference for this ubiquitous element in a marked degree is superlatively striking in most if not all of his collections. Notably conspicuous, his use of metallic silver rings and clasps to complement a mellifluous silky evening gown and his inventive yet intricate construction of an honest to goodness full-length metal jacket, or yet a futuristic twist of a tailor-made, conformable body hugging medieval armor cum undergarment is a compelling testimonial of this design master's unmistakable fondness for this tough and unyielding material. “ I loved the fashion and architecture of the 1930s. The silvery flowing sequin dresses at that time create a definitive light flow that defines an extremely beautiful man or a woman's body. By conforming sterling materials into an accoutrement,” Erros quipped, “ I am directing a flow of light to draw attention and accentuate a gorgeous human anatomy”. Without a shred of doubt, with such a discernible connubial attachment between a passionate design artist and this lustrous malleable element, we could zestfully expect nothing less than bounteous high luster creations positively conducting frenzy heat and electricity to an expectant local fashion enterprise.

ERROS'HAREM'COLLECTION PREMIERE NIGHT! A GLITTERING 'SRO' BU AFFAIR!!!

“ Glitz and Glamour Par Excellence!”, “... truly a captivating display of exquisite treasure of a collection! “, “ Awe-inspiring gold and silver neck pieces amplifying the masculine attributes of his gorgeous models! “ These were some of the exhilarating reviews Erros received just after a rousing finale rocked a virtually jam-packed and fervently covetous BU Friday crowd. As early as 8 PM a plenitude of antsy and avid followers of this whimsical design master gingerly crowded BU's gateway just to grab choice seats for this thirstily awaited Erroscollection. True enough, minutes before the show starts, not a single seat nor an SRO space was available. The overcrowded mob, however, were not complaining as they were ostentatiously treated to an hour and a half of non-stop, spellbinding display of fiendishly mystical array of pomp and pageantry fit for a king. A cast of drop dead, mesmeric and resplendent 2011 FOE finalists revealingly flaunt Erros' signature stannic/ fusible appurtenances and distinctive chapeaus, lecherously complementing their hunky physique. Still and all, the stunning and electrifying performances of Dawn, as the Harem Queen as well as the delectably enthralling and scrumptious terpsichorean prowess of Randy Simon ( the Chosen One) collectively brought the house down with unrelenting applause and thundering blast of approval at the show's end. Call it discernment or out right brilliant intuitiveness, certainly an Erros' runway show remains to be one of the most discriminating and eagerly awaited spectacle in this industry, indubitably reflecting the boundless energies and immense creative imagination of his vibrant designs.

“ HAREM (Cancao Do Mar)”, SPARKED A DIVINE COLLECTION !!!

“Burning sands, winds of desire . Mirrored oasis reflect a burning fire.
Within my heart, unwatered, feeding the flame. Welcoming you to my Harem”

These poetic verses perfectly matched the outlandishly alluring melody in this unique, cross cultural musical piece painting exquisite imagery of the Arabian desert enticingly yearning for love. But it was the melding of electronic, modern, and ancient instrumentals together with Sarah Brightman's brilliant sultry voice which captivated the desire of a thousand romantics like Erros to procreate a masterpiece inspired by this aria. With his insatiable preference for stannic and fusible appurtenances in most of his handiwork, the “Harem” collection, looked like a nonchalant 'piece-of-cake' undertaking for him. Nevertheless, his anal fusspot personality roused him to strive for more. As he vexatiously hinted, we could expect outlandish headgears, definitely Arabian yet off the beaten track and notably unique in its conceptual design. As Erros acknowledged, “ They're incredibly complicated...but I know what works, what doesn't work, all the old tricks.” With such a strong-willed and focused frame of mind, he could again pull this through, making this particular collation, unique, compelling and charmingly effective.
